Golden Times ....

Here is a gold & white Birthday card I made ....

I started with a white card blank and made a matt with Gold crackle medium through a butterfly stencil.  When dry I used this as a base and matted on gold mirri card.  I then diecut a butterfly in more gold mirri card and applied this to the matt as shown.  Two black gems were added to decorate the butterfly body.

The sentiment (Happy Little Stampers) was stamped on white card with Vesafine black ink, matted on more gold mirri card and attached on foam pads.  The matt was then stuck in place on the front of the card to finish.

Summer Holiday ......

This is how Summer should really be .......

Made this card made for the Less Is More Challenge Blog whose theme is 'Your Perfect Holiday'

I started with a 5.5 x 5.5 inch white card base and die-cut a slightly smaller matt with a stitched edge die.  I then stamped the main image (Inkadinkado) with Archival black ink.  This was then sponged with Distress inks in yellows, blues and oranges after making a mask for the surfer and board. Some of the wave tips were highlighted with a white pigment pen. It was then matted on blue card.

The sentiment 'Holiday Hello - from me to you' (Stampin'Up) was stamped in Versafine black ink onto white card which was then die-cut with a circular die.  This was lightly sponged with the same Distress ink colours.  A black cabochon was placed in the centre.

The card was then assembled with foam pads under the white matt and the circular sentiment.

Happy Summer .......

Buildings ......

We run a monthly postcard Swap over on UK Stampers Forum - this months theme is 'Buildings' ...

I started with a 6 x 4 inch piece of white card as the base.  I then used Distress Oxide in walnut stain & vintage photo and stamped lots of times with a distressed spots stamp from Prima.  I then sprayed with small amounts of water and continued to stamp to blend the two colours until I obtained the finish I liked.

I then stamped some text (PaperArtsy) in Versamark and heat embossed this with detail black embossing powder.

I then used a Magenta stamp and stamped this in Memento black onto more white card.  I trimmed this out and coloured selectively with a gold Posca pen. This was stuck in place with Glossy Accents.

The words (PaperArtsy) were stamped in Memento black onto paper, trimmed out, stuck in place and decorated with a yellow Posca pen which also edged the words, main image and dots around the card.

I used dark brown Versamagic chalk ink to edge the card.  The whole thing was mounted on another layer of card to finish.  I then sprayed with matt acrylic sealant to protect.

It travels through the post 'naked' to its randomly chosen recipient at the end of Month.  If you like the idea of joining this and other Swaps, please click HERE to go to the Forum and join us !

Open Flowers .....

This birthday card is a very simple design .....

I took a 5 x 7 inch white card blank as the base.  I then stamped a number of leaves (PaperArtsy) and flowers (Sizzix) onto white cardstock using a variety of Memento dye ink colours.

These were trimmed out with a small border.  They were then assembled as shown, some on foam pads.  The flowers were centred with coloured pearl cabochons and the leaf veins drawn in with a black Micron pen.

The sentiment (Happy Little Stampers) was stamped on white card with Versafine black ink before diecutting out and placing on the card on foam pads.

Butterfly Birthday ......

Weather is not summery at all here in the UK so made this Summery birthday card to lift my spirits.

Started with a 5.5 x 5.5 inch white card blank.  I then diecut a slightly smaller stitched square out of white card.  I made a masterboard using a selection of acrylic paints and from this diecut the butterfly saving the cut outs..

I then diecut 3 concentric stitched circles  in black, teal & lemon.  I reused the aperture made by diecutting the butterfly and diecut this with a circle the size of the black circle as a backing.  The circles were then matted and the butterfly mounted back into the aperture leaving the wings free to move.  I hand drew in the antenna with a fine Micron pen.

The circular matt was attached to the centre of the square as shown and the butterfly cutouts applied in a pleasing manner.

The sentiment (Papertrey Ink) was stamped on white card in Versafine black ink, trimmed out and applied on foam pads and placed as shown.  Finally the white square was mounted on more foam pads onto the card blank to finish the card.

Get Well .....

I do like these mini cards - they are just 3 x 3 inches in size. Limited space but you can do so much with the design for them !

This one started life as a white card blank.  I then diecut a stitched square and matted this on to a piece of slightly larger green cardstock.  I diecut out a circle in the centre of the square.  I then diecut another circle of printed paper with a matching colour theme.

I mounted the matted square centrally on the card front on foam pads and stuck the printed circle into the aperture.

I stamped the 'Get Well' (Papertrey Ink) onto white card in Versafine black in, trimmed out and applied on foam pads into the centre of the aperture to finish.

Simple, small but meaningful non the less !

Black Tag .......

Here is a tag I made for a Swap over on UK Stampers Forum Facebook Group.

I took black card and cut it into a tag shape. This was stamped with Distress Oxide inks in wilted violet and faded denim then spritzed and dried.  I selectively added more of the inks until the intensity was to my liking before thoroughly drying with the heat gun.

I then diecut a number of flower dies, a lattice and the word from thin white card. These were coloured with a waterbrush and more Distress Oxide ink & were dried before adhering to the card as shown.  Some edging with white pen was done and crystal Stickles was applied on the flowers and word.

Final touches were to apply a black brad with the Cropodile and thread through with some silk fibres in contracting colours to finish.

I have entered this into the 'Happy Little Stampers' Challenge for this month whose theme is 'Anything Goes with Dies'

Happy Bird Day ......

A bright and cheerful Birthday card from me today ......

I started with a white card blank and diecut two smaller oblong stitched edge plates.  I then stamped the branch (Versafine black ink) and leaves (Versamagic chalk ink) once on the card and once on the larger matt which was mounted on foam pads directly over the original image on the card.

I used Memento inks to stamp the elements of the bird onto white card and then diecut these out.  The bird was then applied to the branch.

The words were stamped in Versafine black on the smaller matt and applied again on foam pads. Three adhesive gems were added to finish.

Ombre colours ......

Made this card for a challenge over on the City Crafter Challenge Blog whose theme is 'Paint Chip Inspired'.

I took a 5 x 7 inch white card blank and then cut a rectangle from more white card to fit the left half of the card blank.  This was then diecut with a curvy stitched die to produce for two pieces.

I took a paint chip in green and punched 6 flowers with a Martha Stewart punch.  Each flower was centred with a clear dewdrop.  I took the left and piece of diecut card and drew a curvy line with a black micron pen and stuck the flowers over this as shown.  Both the left and right diecuts were then mounted onto the card blank with foam pads leaving a small gap between the two pieces.

The sentiment (Papertrey Ink) was stamped on white card with Versafine black ink, trimmed out and mounted on more foam pads as shown to finish the card.

Hope is Honey ......

This is a 6 x 6 inch multimedia plaque that I have crafted recently.

I started by trimming a piece of corrugated packaging to 6 x 6 inches.  I then tore old book pages and applied with glue to the surface of the corrugated square.  Once dry I brushed on white Gesso to obscure most of the printed words allowing this to dry completely.

Next I applied modelling paste through a honeycomb stencil and allowed this to dry.  I then coloured the whole background with Distress Oxide ink in fossilized amber & spiced marmalade with cut'n'dry foam.  I lightly spritzed the plate with water and dried thoroughly with the heat gun to set the ink.

I then used a Versamark pen and selectively applied the ink to some of the octagonals which I then heat embossed with a pearly orange embossing powder.  The edge of the plate was then covered in orange 'numbers' Washi tape.

The bees were stamped in Memento black trimmed out and coloured with a Copic marker.  I then cut some acetate, trimmed and applied over the wings of each bee before applying on foam pads.  The flowers and leaves were diecut from blue card & green Brusho watercolour background with the centres embellished with green clear cabochons.  They were applied as shown.

The words were computer generated and printed, trimmed out and edged with a white pen and stuck in place as shown.

Final touches were to add a few yellow faceted stones and a few circles of cream acrylic paint applied on a small lid.  The plate was then matted onto a piece of black card to set off the finished plate.

I have entered this one into the That's Crafty Challenge blog Challenge whose theme is 'Anything but a Card' & this months Creative Challenge over on the Artistic Stamper Creative Team Blog whose theme is 'Anything Goes'.

Quite a Summery plate and I like the way it turned out.

Tropical Fruits ......

Here is a CAS card made in exotic fruity colours as my entry into the Less Is More Challenge Blog whose theme this week is 'Tropical Fruits'.

I took a 5.5 x 5.5 inch white card blank and diecut a smaller matt in more white card and adhered this to the card front.  I then set about stamping a set of stamps from Sizziz in fruity colours using a selection of Impress dye inks to form a pattern on white card.  I then used various sizes of circular stitched edge dies to selectively cut 4 circles.

These were applied to the card matt on foam pads as shown.

The sentiment (Happy Little Stampers) was stamped in Versafine ink on white card and diecut out using a stitched edge oblong die.  This was then applied on more foam pads to complete the card.

Love the bright colours on lots of white !

CAS Birthday ......

A CAS Birthday card from me today for this weeks Challenge over at Less Is More blog whose subject is 'Pierce Your Project'.

I started with a 4 x 4 inch white card blank and diecut a stitched diamond in white card.  I then chose coloured cards and diecut the balloons.  Each balloon was then decorated with an eyelet (the piercing bit), before being stuck in place on the diamond.  The strings were drawn in with a 0.05 black Micron pen. The diamond was applied to the front of the card on foam pads.

The sentiment (Papertrey Ink) was stamped on white card with Versafine black ink, trimmed out and mounted on more coloured card before being applied as shown on foam pads.

Baby Girl Card .....

Just made a baby card for a friend who has just given birth to a baby girl.

Wanted to keep it simple so started with a 6 x 6 inch white card blank.  I then cut a stitched edge matt in pink and a smaller one in white card.  I applied these directly to the card.

I then stamped the sleeping baby image in Memento black ink and coloured with Copic markers.  I then diecut this with a circular stitched edge die and cut another circle in white card to form a frame.

The baby matt was applied centrally to the card and the frame applied over this on foam pads for relief and I added three pink pearl cabochons to decorate.

I then stamped the words 'Bundle Of Joy' (Papertrey Ink) in Versafine black ink, trimmed this out and applied as shown on more foam pads.

Hope she likes it !
