Mums Card & Box

Happy Mothers Day to you all and especially to my own Mum !!

This is my Mum's card & gift for this Mothers Day.  The card was made using some digi papers cut into equal sized blocks and mounted as shown.

The two layered plates were made using a Sizzix die, one on blue card and one on white.  Both were applied on foam pads to raise them.  The sentiment was stamped in Archival black ink. Finishing touch was to add a paper flower on a sticky dot.

The box was made using another large matchbox Sizzix die.  This was cut out, assembled and covered in panels of similar papers.  The bow was added to finish.

Hope she likes it ........... guess what's in the box !

Steampunkery !

Here's a card I made on a Kraft card base.  I have used 6 x 6 papers as the background with some letters trimmed out from paper also.

I have used rubber stamps from Darkroom Door to stamp all images (cogs, man with top hat , hot air baloon, butterfly & words)  Cogs & words were stamped in black Archival ink directly onto the background.  The man, balloon, compass & butterfly were stamped in Sepia Versafine and black Archival ink on white card and trimmed out.  The butterfly was coloured with a pencil.  The mans hat was embellished with Glossy Accents for a shine !

A honeycomb die was used to cut the mask which was coloured with worn lipstick Distress Ink.  Most edges were coloured with distress inks applied with cut'n'dry foam.  Once assembled the card was finished off with three dark brown brads as shown.

Little Collages - Freebie ATC's

Here are two collaged ATC's made from digi images along with stamping and some freehand penwork using Posca Pens.

I just love bright and bold colours and these just show what you can mix & match.  They are collaged on grey board.

Would love to know if you like them and I will send them to one commenter if you follow my blog and leave a comment.  Deadline for comments is 29/03/14 after which I will use a random number generator to select the chosen one !

If you are chosen I will ask for your postal addy so I can send the ATC's.

Good Luck !!

How Remarkable

This is one of a monthly swap we do over on the UK Stampers Forum so why not join us and have a go?  Our March theme is an 'Open' one so anything goes.

I have crafted a bright (and rather pink !) postcard entitled 'You Are Remarkable'.

The stout card blank was first trimmed to 6 x 4 inches and this was covered with a piece of digi printed paper.

Other elements were stamped with Versafine and Distress Ink, whilst a label with the words, some trimmed out images, Washi tape, stickers and doodling with a fine Micron pen complete the design.

Some edging was done using cut'n'dry foam and tumbled glass Distress Ink.  These postcards are sent to the recipient without any extra protection, so the postcard was given a coat of matt acrylic spray lacquer to help it through the postal system.

The Romantic Road

I love to use Kraft card, it possesses such a natural colour which blends well with earthy tones.  This card was made from a 4 x 4 inch base card and I think the colours are lovely.  Papers were selected, cut and applied as shown. Distress inks were used to edge most components.

The main image is Moo sized and is a plate made of card, covered in paper and stamped with a chandelier stamp in Archival black ink.  One layer is a die cut circle with a scalloped edge and some Washi tape was used to hold the horizontal papers together.

I have used a sticker to record the date, layered over a printed ticket from 7 Gypsies. Some paper lace, more stamping with arrows and swirls stamps was done.

Crowning glory was the bow fashioned from fab hessian ribbon (available at The Ribbon Girl) which was tied at the centre with some brown twine.

Rainbow !

Here is a CAS card made on a white 4 x 4 inch card blank.

I stamped a dandelion leaf from Clarity Stamps in black Archival ink and embellished with a series of dewdrops coloured beforehand with alcohol ink pens to represent the ROYGBIV - R(Red), O(Orange), Y(Yellow), G(Green), B(Blue), I(Indigo) & V(Violet) of the prismatic colours of the rainbow.

The Rain is made with stickers and the Bow is stamped again with black Archival ink.

Simples.......... this will be my entry for this weeks City Crafter Challenge Blog for week 202 - 'Beautiful Rainbow'.

Somebirdie Loves Me !

These ATC's were made as part of a swap over on UK Stampers Forum and the theme for this month is 'Owls'.

These quirky little owlies were made on a digi background paper which was stamped with the owl stamp from Hero Arts in Archival black as a template.

Patterned paper was then chosen in four colourways and was again stamped, but this time cut out and paper pieced to provide the coloured elements.

A Pigma micron pen was used to draw in the feathers on the wings and the ATC squiggly borders. A white Posca pen was used on the owls bibs and a silver pen on the beaks.

Finally the sentiment was stamped in more archival black ink using a rubber stamp and the edges coloured with spiced marmalade Distress Ink..

HOLA !

This one-layer card is made on a white card base.  I folded a piece of A4 white card to make the card and then used some foam stamps from Making Memories inked with Distress Inks to stamp the letters to spell 'HOLA !' which of course we all recognise as Spanish for Hello!.

The exclamation mark is stamped with a foam stamp in black Archival Ink.  Once dry I used a fine black Posca pen to edge the letters with a wavy line to emphasize.

Three lines of Washi Tape were added in colours to match with a diagonal edge.  Bold colours and letters here !

This card meets the City Crafter Challenge Blog  No. 200 ' Do You Speak English?'.

Defining Moment

This card was made with an acrylic paint mono printed background, overstamped with black archival ink with some Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous stamps.

The background was sewn onto some textured black card and the plate was embellished with a couple of stamped images from PaperArtsy.

Some detail was added with Posca pens in gold, yellow, white and orange.  These were stuck in place along with a printed 'Defining Moment' wordplate.  Idea came from Craft Stamper Magazine and I have entered this in the Craft Stamper Make it Take it challenge.
